FAQS

What data sources are available?

We have a wide range of data sources available for users to connect to, from social security institutions as well as various salary and gig platforms.

To see our full list of data sources, you can get free access to our developer portal and test our platform out for yourself.

Who can use the Developer Portal?

Anyone can use it! Our developer portal is designed to be accessible for everyone who wants to integrate with our API. While it is useful for anyone looking to access our services, those in credit risk or recruitment roles may find it particularly valuable.

How does Smile's employment data differ from traditional credit data?

Unlike traditional sources of credit data like credit scores or manually submitted documents, our employment data provides greater coverage, real-time access, and the most recent, comprehensive, verified data about your users' identity, employment, and income that is available in the market today. This means you can make more informed decisions about risk and suitability when assessing credit applications.

How much does the Developer Portal cost?

You can sign up for free! However, if you want to gain access to live data and take advantage of our premium features, you can book a call with us to discuss pricing and enable it for your account. Our team will work with you to ensure you're getting the best possible value for your needs.

What is the difference between Production Mode and Sandbox Mode?

Use Sandbox Mode if you need to test how the SDK works and during development. Sandbox Mode includes test accounts you can use that return you data for development and testing purposes. These do not connect to our partner data sources, so you can freely test out the system.

Production Mode, on the other hand, will return only Live data. Production Mode connects to live production environments of our data sources, and as such, requires actual accounts from actual people. Book a demo here.
